Comrade Sally remarked on a number of occasions that she was tired of having to spend so much time listening to me bitching on about the state of the world and suggested that I start a blog. So I did.

There is, of course, no shortage of blogs by elderly mature Marxists, but relatively few, I think, that include (or might include) thoughts on Scandinavian furniture design, occasional didactic notes on cookery, cycling, and tool sharpening and sporadic handy hints on modern living along with the usual crap about class struggle.

By the way, the picture at the top of this page is of a statue of Lenin on top of an apartment building on New York’s Lower East Side.
